Z veseljem vam predstavljamo našo novo prostovoljko Zeynep, ki se nam bo pridružila do konca šolskega leta. V nadaljevanju se vam sama na kratko predstavi.
Živjo! I am Zeynep , a teacher from Istanbul, Turkey who came to Slovenia to be a part of a volunteering project supported by the Erasmus+ program, which aims to promote learning, cultural exchange and the community work. I am the new volunteer at Tone Okrogar Primary School.
I studied English Language Teaching at university, and since then I have been passionate about helping others learn the language in fun ways. Last year I was working at a high school in Istanbul with 9th, 10th and 11th grades and I had also gained experience at a public secondary and primary school with 2nd ,5th and 7th grades.
Some of the main reasons I chose Slovenia for this project are its peaceful atmosphere, beautiful nature and strong culture of protecting the environment. On the first day I came here, I admired how people here live in harmony with nature and value community life. These values inspired me because I believe that education should teach not only academic knowledge but also respect for nature, social responsibility and empathy.
During my time here, I have opportunity to observe different school systems, learn about new teaching approaches and understand how education works here. This experience helps me improve my teaching skills and gain a boarder perspective for my future career as an educator. At the same time, I am also volunteer at Mladinski Center Zagorje, where we organize and prepare wokshops for locals. These activities allow me to work creatively, connect with the local community.
I believe I can bring positive energy, creativity for teaching to every environment I work in. Working with children and young people always motivates and excites me, for I enjoy creating supportive and inspiring environment for them to grow.
In my free time, I enjoy reading classics, going for walks and exploring museums, art galleries as I am interested in art and creativity. I also try to see and explore the cities here as much as possible.
In the future, I would like to pursue a masters degree and continue developing as a teacher and bring together my passion for education, culture and travel.
